We are not travel bloggers.
We are not itinerary makers.
We are collectors of what remains.
Underture was born from a simple observation: most travel stories end at the airport gate.
The photos get posted, the souvenirs find their shelf, the stories get told a few times… and then silence.
But something doesn’t stop. Something continues to hum quietly inside long after the trip is officially “over”.

That something has a name now.
We called it underture — the soft, lingering coda that plays when the main symphony has already finished.
We write about the second life of journeys:
the way a city reprograms your evenings
the silence that suddenly becomes the loudest voice in your head
the taste that appears without warning and pulls you back across oceans
the strange new scale you start applying to your own small daily problems
This space belongs to three cities only — Tokyo, Iceland, New York —
not because they are the best or the most beautiful,
but because each of them leaves a distinctly different echo inside a person.
We don’t sell tickets.
We don’t give discounts.
We don’t tell you where to eat or which viewpoint has the best Instagram angle.
We try to do something more fragile and more honest:
to put into words the things that usually stay wordless
to name the quiet feelings that follow you home
to remind you (and ourselves) that sometimes the deepest part of the journey happens after you’ve already returned.
Underture is a small, private corner for people who feel a little homesick
not for a place they’ve left,
but for the version of themselves they briefly became while they were away.
If you’ve ever caught yourself smiling at nothing
because of a random smell, a particular shade of sky, or the memory of a sound you can’t quite place —
then this place is also yours.
Welcome.
The afterglow is waiting.
